Sumed Throughput Expected to Rise by 50% in 1986
The oil throughput of Sumed - the twin 42-inch, 320-km. oil pipeline linking 'Ain Sukhna in the Gulf of Suez to Sidi Kerir west of Alexandria on the Mediterranean - is expected to rise by some 50% to about 60mn tons (1,200,000 b/d) in 1986 from 39.2mn tons (784,000 b/d) in 1985, according to Sumed Chairman and Managing Director Muhammad Ramzi al-Laithi.
