Saudi Arabia Pays $180mn to Syria
In accordance with the 1978 Baghdad Summit resolution, Saudi Arabia has paid $180mn to Syria as the second installment of payments due from the steadfastness fund for 1986, according to the Abu-Dhabi daily al-Ittihad. So far only Saudi Arabia has paid its full contribution to Jordan, Syria and the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), while Kuwait, the only other remaining donor, has reduced its contribution by 39%....
