Iran Misses Second Repayment on IJPC Debt
For the second time this year Iran has failed to make the scheduled repayments of interest and principal on Japanese loans for the ill-fated Iran Japan Petrochemical Company (IJPC) complex at Bandar Khomeini on Iran's Gulf coast. A spokesman for the Export Import Bank of Japan said in Tokyo on 3 September that Iran had failed to pay some 1.5bn yen ($9.7mn) due on 10 August on a 28.8bn yen loan.
