Japanese Spot Imports Continue to Climb
Japan's imports of spot crude oil reached a record 26.4% of total oil imports in July or 923,000 b/d after averaging 19.7% of the total in the second quarter, according to Petroleum Association of Japan statistics. The July figure caps a steady growth in spot imports over the last two years, as the following table shows (thousand b/d):
