Oil Revenues Estimated at $20.3bn for 1985-86
Iranian Prime Minister Hossein Moussavi on 27 November presented a 3,869bn riyal ($42.1bn) draft budget for 1985/86 (21 March 1985-20 March 1986) to this Majlis in Tehran. Oil revenues in the draft budget are projected at 1,867bn riyals ($20.3bn), and, according to the official IRNA news agency, more than one-third of budget expenditures will be allocated to cover the direct and indirect costs of the war with Iraq.
