Libya Announces Two New Oil Discoveries
On 31 December the Libyan National Oil Corporation (NOC) announced two new oil discoveries by Sirte Oil (a subsidiary of NOC) and Romania's Rompetrol. The Sirte discovery, offshore north of Tripoli, flowed 4,694 b/d from a depth of 7,740 ft. Rompetrol's discovery well in its production-sharing block NC 115 in south-western Libya adjoining the Algerian border flowed 1,800 b/d from a depth of 4,625 ft.
