Two Discoveries in Algeria

The Algerian Government has announced two new oil discoveries by the national oil company Sonatrach. The first of these, wildcat Moukhag E1 Kebach No. 1 drilled in association with Shell in the Hadjira area of eastern Algeria, flowed 2,000 b/d from a depth of 4,000 meters. According to the Ministry of Energy and Petrochemical Industries, the Shell/Sonatrach consortium is planning two further wildcats on other structures in 1985.
