France Lends Mauritania $6mn for Iron Mining Project
The French Central Fund for Economic Cooperation is to lend Mauritania FF57mn ($6mn) under an agreement signed on 23 December. The funds will be used by the National Industrial and Mining Company (SNIM) to start-up the Guelbo iron field, which was inaugurated on 10 July 1984 in Zouerate in the northern region.
