US Reverses Previous Ruling on Kuwait's Mineral Leases on Federal Land
The US Department of the Interior has issued a decision reversing a two-year-old ruling of former Secretary James G. Watt, which prohibited Santa Fe International, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) from acquiring oil and gas leases on federal acreage (MEES, 21 March and 27 June 1983).
