Bahraini OBU Assets Dip in 1984
Total assets of Bahrain's Offshore Banking Units (OBUs) at the end of 1984 stood at $62.69bn, a slight dip below the end-1983 total of $62.74bn, according to figures released last week by the Bahrain Monetary Agency (BMA). $48.32bn (77.1%) of the end-December assets were held in US$, with regional currencies accounting for $9.93bn (15.8%) of the total.
