NBO Increases Profits and Assets
The biggest commercial bank in the Sultanate of Oman, the National Bank of Oman (NBO), has reported a 21% increase in its operating profits to RO 7.4mn ($21.5mn) in 1984. Total assets rose by 25% to RO 359.7mn ($1bn) during the year, and the bank is paying a 15% cash dividend (RO 1.65mn) together with a 36% scrip issue (worth RO 4mn) which will raise its paid-in capital from RO llmn ($31.9mn) to RO 15mn...
