Abu Dhabi Inaugurates Solar Desalination Plant
A new $8mn solar desalination plant with a capacity of 80 tons/day of fresh water was inaugurated last week in Abu Dhabi's Umm al-Nar industrial complex. The plant, which is believed to be the first of its kind in the world and is a gift from the Japanese Government, was built by three Japanese companies, Sasakura Engineering Company, Sanyo Electronics and Sankyu Construction Company.
