Jordan Islamic Bank Records Strong Growth
Bucking a generally negative trend among the Islamic banks in the region was Jordan lslamic Bank, which reported a 43% increase in assets to JD102.1mn ($252mn) in 1984 and a 50% increase in profits to JD893,200 ($2.2mn). Deposits increased by 42% to JD82.9mn ($204.2mn), and the bank paid a 9% dividend for the year.
