Italian Firms to Manage Misurata Steel Plant
Italy's state-owned Italimpianti and Italsider have won a Lire 300bn ($150mn) contract to manage Libya's iron and steel complex at Misurata, some 150 miles east of Tripoli on the Mediterranean coast. The two companies, which are part of the IRI group, will have responsibility for the management, production and maintenance of the $3.3bn plant which is still under construction (MEES, 21 May 1984).
