BP Acquires Stake in Braspetro Concession 

British Petroleum has purchased a 25% share in the 42,000 sq. km. Braspetro concession in the Haurin-Ghayada bloc in the eastern part of South Yemen. Braspetro, the international operations subsidiary of the Brazilian state-owned Petrobras, acquired the concession in January 1982 with Spain's Hispanoil joining in later with 20% (MEES, 6 February 1984).
