Algeria Allocates $108bn for New Five-Year Plan
Algeria's new 1985-89 five-year plan provides for overall investments of 550bn dinars ($108bn at the current exchange rate of DA5.1 = $1), an increase of 37% over the total of DA400.6bn in the 1980-84 plan (MEES, 9 February 1981). The major emphasis is on industry, with total allocations of DA174.2bn ($34.2bn), of which DA39.8mn ($7.8bn) is allocated to hydrocarbons. Other major investments are planned in agriculture...
