Taqi Puts Proved and Probable Reserves at 105bn Barrels
Iraq's proved and probable oil reserves total 105bn barrels, according to Mr. Qasim Ahmad Taqi, the Iraqi Oil Minister, in an interview with the Defense Ministry weekly Hurras al-Watan. Mr. Taqi said that the proved crude oil reserves were 65bn barrels and probable reserves 40bn barrels, while a further 40bn barrels of possible reserves might be found over the next 50 years.
