IEA Says OECD Demand Fell by 1.6% in First Quarter
The International Energy Agency (IEA), in the June issue of its Oil Market Report (OMR), has lowered its estimate of first-quarter OECD oil consumption by 300,000 b/d to 35.8mn b/d, down 1.6% from the corresponding period of 1984. Moreover preliminary data for 2Q 1985 now put OECD demand at 33.1mn b/d, compared to 33.7mn b/d in the May OMR, 2% less than in 2Q 1984.
