GPIC's Ammonia/Methanol Plant Commissioned
The $400mn ammonia/methanol plant of the Bahrain-based Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (GPIC) is now fully operational with the start up of the methanol unit on 2 July. The ammonia unit was commissioned on 19 June. The complex, located at Sitra, has a capacity of 1,000 t/day of ammonia and 1,000 t/day of methanol and was built by Snamprogetti under a contract signed in February 1982 (MEES, 1 March 1982 and 3 October 1983)....
