Japanese Spot Crude Imports Average Over 1mn b/d in First Half
The latest statistics from Japan indicate that although imports of spot oil fell in the second quarter both in volume and as a percentage of total crude imports, for the first half of 1985 as a whole spot purchases averaged a record 1,079,000 b/d, or 30.8% of imports, as against 834,000 b/d (22.6% of imports) in 1984.
