Iraq Proposes Ghadhban For OPEC Top Job

Baghdad has proposed Thamir Ghadhban, head of the Iraqi Prime Minister’s Advisory Commission, as the next OPEC secretary-general, MEES learns. Mr Ghadhban, a former oil minister, is a well-respected technocrat, and if selected, would take over from current Secretary-General Abd Allah al-Badri, when his term ends at the end of 2012.
