Kurds Poised For Oil Boom, Amid Looming Political Turmoil
Oil production in the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) area of northern Iraq is set to more than treble by end-2013, if plans go ahead, MEES estimates. The expansion comes as investment talks on at least seven blocks come close to conclusion. And investors appear undeterred by a continued lack of an oil agreement with Baghdad and rising tensions between central government and the KRG. Rafiq Latta reports.
