Qatar Joins renewables Race In Move To Conserve North Field Gas
Qatar announced last week it aims to produce 10% of its electric power from renewables by 2018. It wants to conserve its gas supplies in the North Field and fulfill its pledge of a carbon neutral 2022 World Cup. Saudi Arabia also is considering renewable energy to address its burning of oil in power stations. Nick Wilson writes.
