TAQA Expanding Morocco Coal-Fired Power Plant Capacity To 2GW
State-owned Abu Dhabi National Energy Company (TAQA) has secured $1.4bn in project financing to expand its power plant in Morocco, it said on 21 June. It will boost capacity at Jorf Lasfar coal-fired power plant by 700mw to 2.056gw. It is the region’s biggest coal-fired power plant and Morocco’s first independent power producer (IPP).
