Iraq Prepares To Launch GTL Project
Kuwait’s Aref Energy expects to get the green light from Baghdad in July to build a gas-to-liquids (GTL) plant in Iraq to produce gasoline blendstock. It will be one of the world’s first commercial GTL projects to use a non- Fischer-Tropsch (FT) process – Shell and Sasol’s Fischer-Tropsch-based plants produce gasoil, base oil kerosene and naphtha, but not gasoline.
