Saudi Arabia And Abu Dhabi Scramble To Open Crude Pipelines To Bypass Hormuz

Saudi Arabia plans to reopen one of the two east-west oil pipelines collectively known as the 5mn b/d Petroline, while Abu Dhabi continues commissioning its 1.5mn b/d pipeline to Fujairah. Both moves are to bypass the Strait of Hormuz. The 48-inch Petroline pipeline was deactivated a few years ago as more Saudi crude was shipped to Asia-Pacific instead of the West.
