Lebanon’s Economy Hit By Power Crisis and Syrian Turmoil
Two US banks have warned that Lebanon’s chronic power crisis, the conflict in neighboring Syria and falling exports at a time of increasing oil imports are hurting its economy. Lebanon’s economy, which boomed with an average of 8% annually from 2007 to 2010, grew only 1.5% last year and faces an uncertain 2012.
