Iran Restores Gas Supply To Earthquake-Affected Areas
National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) managing director Javad Owji announced on 15 August that gas pipelines and splitters damaged during an earthquake in Iran’s East Azerbaijan province on 11 August had been repaired and gas supply returned to normal. Mr Owji told Shana that despite the strength of the earthquake, no gas leakages or explosions occurred in the regional gas pipeline system.
