China Consolidates Its Position In The Iraqi Oil Sector

 

Chinese state-owned firms are stepping up their involvement in the Iraqi upstream. They now control some 35bn barrels of reserves, outgunning their IOC counterparts. This has implications for Iraq’s international relations, not only with China but also with the United States and elsewhere.
