Turkish Wind Power Soars With 124MW Of New Deals

Turkey has pushed further into the lead of the region’s pursuit of wind power, with the award of turbine supply contracts totaling 124MW spread over three projects. Expansion to 20GW is planned.

Turkey currently has 2.45GW of wind capacity and aims to raise the total to 20GW by 2023 as part of a strategy to reduce reliance on imported gas for power generation (MEES, 23 August 2013).
