Morocco Plans Renewables Boost

Moroccan state power firm ONEE aims to achieve a 42% share of renewables in the national electricity mix by 2020. The state utility says solar, wind and hydropower will each provide 14% of generating capacity under the plan. ONEE says the Moroccan Wind Energy Program requires it to lead the development of 2GW of wind capacity, while the Moroccan Agency for Solar Energy (Masen) will add a further 2GW under the Moroccan Solar Plan.
