Egypt Awards Siemens €8bn, 16.4GW Powergen Deal

Cairo has awarded Germany’s Siemens an €8bn ($9.05bn) contract for gas and wind turbines with a combined capacity of 16.4GW. This is equivalent to 52% of Egypt’s end-2014 total generating capacity of 31.45GW and is also Siemens’s largest order ever.
