Jordan Connects First Wind Farm To Electricity Grid

Jordan Wind Project Company (JWPC) has connected up the 117MW Tafila wind farm to the Jordanian grid, taking the kingdom’s combined generating capacity to 4.39GW. The wind farm represents Jordan’s first electricity generated from a renewable source and marks a milestone in the country’s move away from a heavy reliance on imported oil and gas to fuel power plants.
