Egypt’s BP-operated $12bn, 5 tcf West Nile Delta gas project – one of two key start-ups slated for this year – has begun test operations. Output of 200mn cfd is planned by June, ramping up to 600mn cfd later this year.

Officially the 600mn cfd BP-operated Phase-1 West Nile Delta (WND) gas project is slated to start-up in Q2 this year, with BP’s German partner Dea, in its 23 March results, confirming off-the-cuff comments made last month by BP CEO Robert Dudley.
