Algeria’s gas and condensate output got a boost from the 2 July start-up of a gas separation and booster compression plant at the Alrar wet gas field on the Libyan border (an extension of Libya’s Wafa field – see p4).

The plant has enabled an immediate hike in output from 565mn cfd to 872mn cfd, according to UK oil engineering firm Petrofac, which along with Italy’s Bonatti undertook the $550mn EPC contract.
