Italy’s Eni this week finalized a deal to drill the promising Nour concession in the shallow East Nile Delta basin, north of the Sinai Peninsula. It plans an initial well by end-2018. Dana Gas is also due to drill in the region early next year.

Eni on 14 August signed a $105mn deal that will see it drill a minimum of two wells on the Nour concession 50km north of the Sinai peninsula in water depths of 50-400 meters.
