Bangladesh is joining the global club of LNG importers. The Excellence FSRU was installed earlier this year, carrying a test cargo from Qatar, and is now ready to receive its first shipment (MEES, 31 August). That shipment is now en-route, with the Al Deebel LNG tanker leaving Qatar’s Ras Laffan terminal on 1 September and scheduled to arrive on 8 September. Qatar and Bangladesh signed a 15-year, 2.5mn t/y deal last year.
