Bahrain and Saudi Arabia already cooperate strongly in the oil and gas sector, and the pair are looking to deepen their partnership. Bahrain’s National Oil and Gas Authority (NOGA) and Saudi Aramco agreed this week to study the possibility of cooperating on carbon capture, storage and injection. The idea is that carbon dioxide produced by Saudi Arabia could be sequestered, piped to Bahrain and injected into the 45,000 b/d Bahrain oil field for enhanced oil recovery (EOR).
