'Alaw Is Oil Minister In Reshuffled Syrian Cabinet
Syrian President Bashar al-Asad on 11 February reshuffled the cabinet of Prime Minister Muhammad al-'Utari, bringing in 14 new ministers. Sufian 'Alaw, a graduate in engineering from Aleppo University, was named as minister of petroleum and mineral resources, replacing Ibrahim Haddad who had held this post since December 2001.
