The Hariri slate has made a clean sweep of the first round of the Lebanese parliamentary elections in Beirut, but elsewhere the anti-Syrian opposition coalition is falling apart. Iranian presidential candidate Ali Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani has come out in favor of a rapprochement with the US.
