Egypt And Israel Sign Long-Delayed Gas Agreement
Egypt and Israel on 30 June in Cairo signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) that provides for Egypt to supply Israel with 1.7bcm/year of natural gas for a 15-year period. The gas is to be delivered via an underwater pipeline to be constructed between Egypt and the Israeli city of Ashkelon. Deliveries are expected to begin within two years.
