Yemen Lowers Fuel Prices Following Riots
The Yemeni government on 26 July announced that it would lower fuel prices following riots sparked by a decision to cut subsidies on petrol and diesel (MEES, 25 July). As many as 50 protesters were killed during clashes with security forces, and hundreds were injured. The price of petrol had been raised from YR35 to YR65/ liter, kerosene from YR16 to YR45/ liter, and diesel from YR17 to YR25/...
