Abu Dhabi Studies Gulfs Largest Wind Farm
Masdar, Abu Dhabis clean energy initiative, is studying a proposal to build a $200mn, 100mw capacity wind farm near the coastal town of Silah, close to the Saudi Arabian border, that would be biggest in the Gulf. If fast-tracked, Masdar would award a construction contract in January and the farm would begin sending power to the grid in 2014, MEES understands.
