Canadian/French/Saudi Consortium To Study Saudi Rail Project
The Saudi government on 10 March awarded an SR36mn ($10mn) contract to a consortium consisting of Canadas Canrail, Systra of France and Saudi Consolidated Engineering Company (Khatib & Alami) for a feasibility study into a planned project to build a railway linking the far north of the country, which is rich in mineral deposits, with the east coast. The study will be completed in 18 months....
