Lebanon Awards Irans Tamirat Contract To Operate Power Plants
State-owned Electricite du Liban (EDL) has awarded the Iranian power company Tamirat Niroo Tehran a two-year contract for the operation and maintenance of two power plants at Baddai (Deir 'Ammar) and Zahrani, which generate 50% of Lebanons electricity output. The two plants will shift to gas feedstock as soon as natural gas becomes available from Syria. The contract is due to begin on 15 May 2004...
