Construction Of Kazakh-China Crude Pipeline Begins
Kazakhstans Energy Minister Vladimir Shkolnik announced on 28 September that construction of a 1,300km section of the Kazakh-China crude oil pipeline had begun. The two countries are to equally finance construction of the $700-800mn Atasu-Alashankou (Druzhba) section, which is due to be completed by end 2005.
