UAEs First Wind Power Plant Opened
The UAEs first wind power plant, on Sir Bani Yas island 180km west of Abu Dhabi, was opened on 24 October. The facility, built at a cost of 2mn, has capacity to generate 850kw of electricity and can achieve capacity with wind speeds of 12-14ms/second.
