TotalFinaElf Starts Commercial Oil Production From Balal Field
TotalFinaElf announced on 19 February that commercial oil production has started from the Balal field offshore Iran, following one month of production testing (MEES, 13 January). The development project was awarded under a buyback contract by the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) in April 1999, and the development partners were operator TotalFinaElf (46.75%), Eni (38.25%) and Bow Valley (15%)....
