Algeria-Telecom Awards Ericsson $160Mn Contract
Algeria-Telecom, the public operator of the countrys first GSM license, has awarded Swedish company Ericsson a $160mn contract for the expansion of its telecommunications network. The expansion will enable Algeria-Telecom increase lines by 500,000 to 1.5mn. The second GSM license went to Egypts Orascom Telecom and a third operator is expected to be selected later this year.
