Syria Enacts Gas Company Law
Syria has enacted Law 54/2003 establishing the Syrian Gas Company (SGC), headquartered in Homs under the auspices of the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources. The company will be established as an independent public company with a nominal capital of S200mn and will take over all gas-related responsibilities and operations currently handled by the state-owned Syrian Petroleum Company (SPC).
